Spread Of Christianity
Christianity is a religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Christianity started in Europe as a take off of Judaism. Christianity was initially viewed as the religion for "God's chosen people". Once Christianity had begun in Europe, the apostles (chief disciples of Jesus Christ) wrote letters pertaining to Jesus' teachings and traveling the world to spread this new information. In Rome, a branch of Christianity called Catholicism spread the country, becoming the official religion. Peter was the first Pope of the Roman Catholic Church. During the Italian Renaissance, artists expressed ideas of Christianity through their art work. Around the time of the discovery of the new world, missionaries were leaving their home towns in order to spread Christianity throughout Europe and Asia. Lastly, Europeans brought Christianity to North America when many families moved there.
